One Eye, One Rose

Half a face and half a rose, held at the same scale. She is cropped at the bridge of the nose — one eye, the mouth, the line of the jaw — and the flower takes the place of everything the frame leaves out. Shot macro, so the petals fall sharper than the skin and the depth collapses to almost nothing. Printed high key, the two sit in nearly the same tone, and the eye has to decide where one ends.
