Biography

Jeanne Conte has been photographing in and around New York for more than thirty years — the female form, water, and the place where beauty turns vulnerable. Her images move between stillness and motion, treating water as a feminine space.

Her work was included in Summer in America at Candace Perich Gallery. Her photograph Still Heads in August was featured in The New York Times Arts & Leisure section, credited alongside a Harry Callahan. Black Bathing Suit Strap was auctioned at Sotheby's New York. She has also exhibited at Fernando Luis Alvarez Gallery, White Space, Baboo Gallery, Raymond Lawrence, and Arbor Gallery.

She photographed the cover of Mistaken, the novel by Neil Jordan, and her images have appeared in Musée Magazine and Psychologies, both Paris. Her commercial archive is licensed through Gallery Stock in New York and London.

Work is held in private collections internationally and available as large-scale fine art prints. Commissions and commercial projects welcome.
