Body reduces the figure to gesture, shape, and movement. Bent sharply against a dense wall of summer foliage, the subject’s face disappears entirely, leaving the curve of the torso and the exaggerated angle of the arm to define the photograph. Slight softness in the figure contrasts with the textured landscape behind it, giving the body an almost sculptural, fleeting quality.
